To all you good American Democrats from a Canadian fan

I'm up late tonight and before I go to bed I want to say how incouraged I am by the things I read here in DU!...I'm a Canadian as some of you probably are aware of....Watching American TV one is convinced that most Americans are behind George Bush in his insane adventures....But since I discovered DU I have realized that many (perhaps most?) Americans do not agree with the war mongering that is the policy of your government...I just want to say that I am so happy to be able to post on this forum and feel welcome and listened to...What America does effects Canada and ALL the world, as I know you wonderfully caring people know....I'm off to bed now....Just wanted to say this!

I remember the night we first bonded on old DU when some industry insider disruptor was posting on a health insurance thread and we were comparing the Canadian system with our current mess. It's nice to have allies from within and outside our borders.

I mean, there's no way to express our horror
at the BFEE and the incredible harm they've
done the planet and in just three years.

But I must say that too many Americans are
jaw-droppingly oblivious to what's going on.
Or don't care to know. Just can't be bothered.
Friends that I used to think were smart and decent,
act like I'm such wacky conspiracy theorist.

It's very isolating.
I really resent them for their willful stupidity,
for their lack of outrage.
So many are the stereotypical provincial lazy
arrogant 'Merkans the rest of the world rightfully resents.
"They hate us for our freedoms."
Yeah, right folks.

Canadians aren't as clueless as 'Merkans, are they glarius?

I enjoy reading your posts so much, also. One of the best things about DU as far as I am concerned is that we have international folks here too. It's very meaningful to me to be able to commiserate with those outside the US too.

Though, being just up North aways, I don't feel you are so far away. We couldn't ask for a better neighbor than Oh, Canada! :hug:

6. Many of us love and respect Canadians in spite of the fact...

that the Maxim Magazine guys invaded your country without anyone putting up a fight haha. I grew up (or did I grow up??) in Maine, and all we had to do was cross the border to find cleaner cities, cooler people....

Canadians Rule!! I am glad you are posting on this site, so that you know that not all of us Americans are right - wing fruitcakes!!

8. I couldn't agree more. The good people in America are so embarassed

by that yahoo in Washington. The world would be a bad place without America. Your governments righwing policies,when the rest of the world is going progressive alienate the average person. America is still a great nation.
