If I were to make a Democrat chess set, what would you choose for pieces? |
|
Perhaps a donkey for the Knight for example. Pieces (for the non-chess folks) King Queen Bishop (keep those away from the little pawns...heh heh, I am bad) Knight rook Pawn
My wife just bought me a book on how to make your chess sets so I plan on making a few soon.
Just for fun, what would we choose for repug pieces :)

1. King and Queen: Bill and Hillary, of course |
|
Edited on Thu Dec-15-05 09:53 PM by KamaAina
repuke pieces: ordinary working people as Pawns, gated communities as Rooks, SUVs as Knights, Patwa and Foulwell as Bishops.
edit: The ultimate irony is that the repuke pieces would most likely be Black

3. Rev. Al Sharpton might make a good bishop! |

Somehow I pictured Al Gore and Howard Dean, waving swords, as Knights ...

13. Carter's good for a bishop |
|
but why not Jesse for the other? No, wait - MLK, duh.
Maybe our Knights should be a free press? - Ted Koppell (of Knightline) and Sir Walter Cronkite. Rooks would be Meany of the AFL-CIO when it had some clout and Gloria Steinem for NOW. Pawns would be not pawns, but the grass roots working people - waitresses, hard-hats, teachers, factory workers, etc.

12. The king should represent |
|
the worker, the people, and/or the public good. For the GOP the king would represent billionaires, corporations, etc. Remember, in chess its all about protecting the king.

14. then the politicians would be |
|
pawns of the people? I like it, but not realistic is it?
The Queen would be Lady Liberty then, our freedom to vote, write, and organize being our chief power. Would Paul Bunyan as a logger, represent working people? Or John Henry? Or an American farmer?
Queen for Republicans would be the power of Gold - maybe Leona Helmsley to symbolize that.
