Is it just my Imagination or are folks looking Real Bad out there?
Last year this time..I was just scraping myself up off the floor after the "Election goes to the CHIMP" but I didn't see alot of unhappy people out there in the grocery stores or at the malls.

THIS YEAR it seems folks faces are hanging down to the floor. Tempers are short, the drivers are crazy and cutting me off on the roads and in general there's a "real bad feeling." How do I really describe "real bad." Well...it's like I'm seeing folks who don't seem to fu**in' care about anything anymore. What they are doing, where they are going and what they are buying if they buy at all. (Very few shopping bags stuffed, this year).

Now, I started to worry that it's just "My Own Mood" in that psychologically I might be "projecting" my bad mood this year onto others when in fact there are thousands of happy shoppers that I can't seem to see because I have a depression or something.

To that I say...I can't be more depressed this year than I was last year where I didn't even do my usual Christmas decorating I was in such a funk... So, NO...I think this is different. I'm not seeing happy folks out there. It's sort of a "Let's get it over with" attitude.

Are any of you seeing this? I live in a Red State...

2. Honestly, folks are looking pretty good here.
Lots of smiles. It's fucking weird.

And there's lots of female cleavage going around. You know, decolletage, that kind of thing.

It's getting kind of intense. With that and the tins of chocolates and the Honeybaked Hams.

13. I'm just north of you
in Seattle, WA. Be careful -- I might take you up on the invitation.
I can't believe that you're seeing flesh down there. It's been unseasonably cold up here for about a month. All we're seeing is ski parkas, gloves, and overcoats. Brrrrr!

3. Kick.....what are you seeing out there? I'm in Boomtown/South/Red State
Folks are looking VERY GLUM....No Christmas Cheer and store parking lots seem to be very spotty. Maybe "Christmas" is coming late this year for the Buy and Charge crowd.......Could be that folks will PILE IN at the last minute?

7. I have not noticed it
I have spent four hours ringing bells in this Red State. Still wearing my Clark '04 button. Last year I was too teed off to volunteer. I am starting to feel the same way this year. What is the point raising a billion for the Salvation Army when the Republican Congress turns around and cuts several billion from food stamps and Liheap, etc., and these fools won't vote those bastids out.

12. Can't say.
I've been stuck inside with sick kids followed by me getting the creeping crud. Oh well, at least I can pretend all is right (or rather left) in the union.
