LOL After a good laugh on both of our sides.... I found him some he could use. Go figure.. being a pack rat pays off.
A child with an old hand-me-down computer will be getting some Christmas gifts. :D

And demand he give all ME suckers a FREE upgrade to XP.
It really really really is the very least he could do.

And then they laughed all the way to the bank.
Or something like that....

I think that was my first operating system.
Oh those were the days....Everything was exciting and new.
I laugh now to think about how EXCITED my daughter and I were to 'get on the internet'. We were on Prodigy...does anyone even remember that?
And then we got on there and didn't really know what to do!
Ahh the memories....

It was actually pretty stable considering. When '95 came out we started having a lot of problems and it hasn't stopped since :D
It was great when the internet was new - what did we do before we had the interents?!?!

7. Good luck. Here's an inside look at MS: |
|
I'm a freelancer, and worked on a project a couple years ago for MS. Specifically, the launch of the latest version of one of their app suites...some iteration of Office, I think. A big part of the effort was about getting the target to get the trial CDs--which had extremely limited working versions of the applications. Essentially useless. And here was the catch:
They expected people to pay for them.
This was during the middle of AOL promo CDs being stuffed in every mailbox in America. But MS wanted people to pay something like $10 for a trial CD.
So...good luck.

And that might have even been "double spaced" (i.e. a 10 MB drive with capacity doubled by software)
But it still kicked ass on the Commodore 64 w/ the old clunky 1541 floppy drive that I replaced with it.
And (to the original topic) yes, Windows ME is absolutely the worst piece of shit excuse for an operating system ever written.

Atari had some games on it that would keep you having fun forever. The graphics were terrible compared to now adays but the games were so much more fun then the jump and shoot crap we have today.

It still works. Sometimes it is more fun to play games on or do just about anything else on than the XP machine. I despise XP compared to 98. Windows 98 was great. I just wish the newer browsers and software would run on 98. I honestly would ditch XP and go back if I could.
