Jennings was sotr of an ass. Everything on his show had to be done HIS way, lest you face his wrath.

5. Well, there are two ways of looking at that. If "everything" had to |
|
be done his way, it could be a problem -- but if he was trying to maintain the quality of the broadcast, it's a good thing.

Pretty much every day, when he doesn't appear on World News Tonight.

7. The real kicker was that he was a Repub |

Yet truly was "fair and balanced". Most likely he was the old fashioned Repub, the kind that just wanted minimal government interference. DEFINITELY not a neocon.
Most likely he was a Tory who registered Repub because he thought they were the US equivalent.

He never officially supported any candidate, but I am told by those who knew him at the time he was a "Clinton Republican"

12. Yes - definitely not a neocon. |
|
One never got the impression that he supported Bush and his ilk. I still remember how it made me smile during the 2004 campaign when Georgie seriously misquoted(negatively, of course) something John Kerry had said. After showing a clip of the Bush speech in which the misquote occurred, Jennings introduced a clip of Kerry's speech by saying, "And here is what Mr. Kerry actually said..."
