fine people run an Adware/Spyware *full* scan tonight or sometime today. Then mention the number, if any, of detections that were found. Just run the scanner you normally use; Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spyware X-Terminator, etc. Thank you.
Note: Choices 1-4 below are for Spybot. Choices 5-8 are for Ad-Aware. Choice 9 is for other brand with zero. Choice 10 is for other Brand with 1+ found.
Thanks again.

but isn't the data gathering method flawed? Shouldn't people run more than one, and post which found more results - or which one found more 'actual' results.

I get about four tracking cookies a day at the end of the day I sweep them out. One of these days I'll learn to stay out of dark alleys and dimly lit corners.

After 9 months of this Windows 2000 Pro box I have had zero nasties. Some Tracking Cookies reported by Ad-Aware. Nothing harmful. Also, I use Firefox, gMail, sit behind two routers, and run Windows Update when /. tells me to.
*I'm a Macintosh user, I use my Windows box for very little, Mostly Bittorrent and watching porn.*

Edited to add: My system is pretty tight, but there're many sites I can't go to and many features I can't access because I won't let winblows have its way (can't vote MSNBC polls for example).

Lavasoft finds the most consistently every time, followed by McAfee's AntiSpyware which finds almost as many. Damn Microsoft Antispyware rarely ever finds adware or spyware, even if it's there.
