I was rooting for Randall to win, and was thrilled when Trump said "you're hired!". That faded fast, though. When Trump called him back to ask him whether he should give Rebecca a chance (a job), I thought Randall's response was really ungracious and selfish. That made me wonder if the attributes that I admired in him, caring for others and a team player among them, were there or just a tactic to help him win. After all, Trump has hundreds, if not thousands of employees. Why NOT let Trump hire her, too? She would be working in a different place on another project. Randall would always be Trump's first pick and the 'winner'; letting Trump hire her would not diminish that.
I have to say I think Randall showed himself to be petty and mean-spirited. Though I did not want Rebecca to win, I admired her pluck, perseverance, intelligence and management skills. I think she also deserved a chance to prove herself in Trump's organization. I am guessing that Randall has diminished himself in Trump's view and many others as well.
Opinions?
(on edit: just saw a HE-UUUGE thread here on the same subject! Oh well!)

1. I will copy and paste what I posted in another thread |

I think you are forgetting that it is Donald that does the hiring, firing and decision making on that show, not the candidates. Trump asked Randal his OPINION and then HE decided what to do, so Randal did not make that decision he only gave his opinion. Trump is an ass and should never had put Randal in that position, and maybe Randal could have saved face and said something like "Mr. Trump you can make the decision who you would like to work for you and I believe Rebecca would be a great addition to your organization, but I believe I should be your apprentice alone, and that I deserve it and won it fair and square"
These people need to be careful what and how they say things to Trump, remember Bradford?

2. True, Trump was a real dick for doing that |

setting up a controversy when Randall should have just enjoyed his win.

3. I don't know why Trump asked Randal that but |
|
I don't think it has anything to do with Race, which is implied in the other thread. I think Randal kind of sounded like a jerk the way he said it, but I don't blame him for feeling that way. Trump could have done whatever he wanted, he usually does, and it's not always the right decision IMO.
I couldn't believe how bitchy Allah sounded, she could have just said she liked Randal better.

I remember in a fairly recent episode, another contestant (a blonde, forgot her name) was crying and confiding her fears to her (they were in a taxi, I think), and Alla's voice-over spoke about this woman being weak and she would never hire her a person like her, or some other such crap. Alla really spoke about her with contempt. Maybe this coldness helps her in business, but she is a very unnapealing person as far as I am concerned.
