What A Great Weekend :-)
Completed a milestone week of training, with much success handling my first responsibilities.

Finished playing Santa Claus, and all the presents for Nini are wrapped and under the tree. She bought some great kitschy lights for the household, which gets us in the spirit. :-)

Went to a family Christmas party in Chula Vista, and enjoyed meeting some more of her extended family, as well as some great food, drink, and desserts.

Watched a beautiful sunset into the Pacific from their back deck.

The Chargers fulfilled my prediction from weeks ago that they would be the first (if not only) team to put one in the "L" column for the Colts. :bounce:

Watching the Lakers outplay the Rockets right now.

One more week of training on this leg, and then I am home temporarily. I am ready for the holiday week coming up. :toast:

Good evening, DUers. :hi:

1. That's awesome! Go, Zomby! Isn't it nice to feel strong and supported
at the end of one week, and the beginning of the next?

The Winter Solstice is days away, and signals the Coming of the Light, and here you are, rested and getting stronger, and ready for the joy and love and peace the holidays bring.

As for me, I paid my bills today, checked my daughter's laptop for spyware & viruses, painted crown molding and spackled the new drywall in the bathroom (remodeling) yesterday, and while I didn't accomplish as much as I could or should have, I still feel that I'm in a good place beginning the week although I will have much too much to do.

Bless you and yours  and good evening to you too.

2. Always good to hear from you
I am very happy to hear of your weekend successes, and how poetic your perspective is. :-)

I have a challenging week ahead - testing, and bills too. The Coming of the Light is hopefully not an oncoming train. ;-)

Good luck with the remodeling too!

A ZombyHug  to you and your daughter, two wonderful people.

3. It's always important to count blessings, and my holiday wish is for all
this year who lost the blessings they did have.

To be in such a place as I am, with all my loved ones living and near, and safe and comfortable materially, always makes me reflect spiritually and even in my happiness I ache for those this year that lost so much.

So light a candle with me and send :loveya: out to all those who could use it.

"<Deity or non-deity of your choice>" bless us every one.

Peace.

5. For those in need
We cannot abandon or forget them in their darkest hour, during this brightest of seasons. For those still affected by last year's tsunamis, for those displaced and dispossessed by Katrina and ALL of this year's hurricanes... For those who lost loved ones in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the people of those nations in pain and sorrow... My wish is for peace, in haste.

We have not put you out of mind or heart, even while we enjoy the blessings of our present comforts.

6. It was close!
This weekend had the edge over the previous one, because:

1. I didn't have any Cold Stone.

2. Nini kisses better than you. :P

:hi:

9. Too late.
I've already caused a small catastrophe by eating, um, a lot. Tasty though. :9

12. Is the Lakers game on KCAL 9 for you in the San Diego area?
Nope, found it on FSW. a minute left. Lakers down by 4.

I can't stand Tracy McGreedy, personally. x(

13. On FSW here
The 3rd quarter is about to have done them in. x( Those 11 unanswered points. Their lack of a defense is going to bite them repeatedly.

Down with 26.6...

15. That was a sweet turnover and tie
Then they let it slip away with 0.3 left.

But yes, that doesn't diminish the weekend. :D It isn't like the Lakers send me a paycheck. :P

16. It's been crisp and cool up here for days, and the promised storm fizzled
Edited on Mon Dec-19-05 12:08 AM by catzies
last night I had a fire, but tonight I think not.

And I found my daughters's Christmas present on eBay, and my niece's, too.

Christmas parties tomorrow and Tuesday nights.

To quote Calvin & Hobbes, the days are just packed.
