I refuse to pay $300/month for heat. I have already told MMjr. to get used to a cool house, and that I don't want to hear him complain that it's too cold when all he has on is boxers and a tee.

If you're planning on visiting the McCall household, you'd better bring your thermals and union suits.

1. Fireplace? Wood Stove?
Just wondering...
BTW how are you; we haven't talked for awhile. Still thankful you came through the hurricane in one piece.

2. Hey, lild.
Can't do a fireplace or woodstove in my cabin, as much as I'm away. It's almost completely constructed of pine. One spark, and poof. :(

I'm fine. Looking forward to a good Christmas with my fam. How're you doing?

3. Good!
Too bad about the woodstove idea..they are fairly head efficient comparitively. Sweaters and longjohns and LOTS of hot chocolate will have to do I assume!
I am well and so is family; however I still have 5 people to shop for. We are late on the tree too...due to hubby working 6 nights a week. Ah; well..tomorrow is tree and light day.
I hope you have a good and WARM celebration!

4. Have fun putting up the tree and lights.
Yeah, the good part about having a cool house is that I can rationalize drinking three cups of marshmallow-adorned hot chocolate every night. :D

6. I don't blame you, Maddy
I've turned down my thermostat too. I got a little space heater to sit beside in the evening.

Hey, I figure I'm losing weight too, since it takes more energy to keep me warm. :7

My thermostate is set to 65 in the evening and when I'm not home.

7. Hey,Sweeeeeeeetie!
I saw that "one spark, then poof" comment, but myself, I've got thousands of tea lights for heating fuel. Thousands. I know exactly what you're talking about. I'll send you some extra-thick socks, OK?

10. Careful around floppy discs
just wearing silks can cause just enough static electricity to damage them.

13. I can only hope that my bill is as low as $300.
My house really isn't built for very cold weather, and with my FIL living with us, he gets cold, so I have been running the heat and the logs a lot.
