What do you do when you can't sleep?
Last night, I read until one o'clock, then got up, had some juice, surfed, played pool (on the computer), went back to bed, read some more until about 4 AM. By then the nascent migraine was full blown.

And here I am at work, bearing a migraine, wearing my wayfarers, gulping caffeine, praying for a quick end to the day.

What do you do when you can't sleep?

1. I ride it out
It's been a problem since I was a wee lad and I am pretty used to it by now. I have never found a good way to fall asleep when the insomnia hits.

3. ambien, it has been a life saver for me
I still get only about 5 hours and they are interrupted but beats staying up 72 and 96 hours at a time

5. Watch old movies or read
Turner Classic movies is a good insomnia companion for me. But I resist getting out of bed. I just quietly lie there and try to turn off the gears turning over and over in my mind.

10. Have a caffiene drink.
Sure, it pumps you up for a bit, but when it starts to wear off and you're in bed trying to sleep, you go out like a light.
