3. Used to be a fun place near Waterloo called the 218 Tap, but I am

thinking that is long gone now...
Forget the nightclub; go for some culture and the world's best pizza! Head to the NE and Decorah for both...Norwegian American museum, the Porter House museum (a one-of-a-kind must see!); it's close to Spillville where Dvorak wrote the "New World Symphony" (another great museum there, the Bily Brother's clocks) and in Decorah there is MABE'S PIZZA, best anywhere in the USofA! (Around the Garden w/double cheese is my personal recommendation)

4. Haven't been to Des Moines in a while

But I remember a place that had Karaoke-n-steak night every Wednesday (Thursday?). $5 for a steak dinner, and Karaoke all night.

Real dive bar, but fun.
