Does your dog's feet smell like popcorn?

8. Dogs have sweat glands on their feet

...though nowhere else on their bodies. Maybe that's why the feet have a distinctive smell?

I've also noticed that different breeds have their own very distinctive scent. Unless the dog is really dirty or ill, it shouldn't be unpleasant, just distinctive. I love the faintly "dusty" scent of Pomeranians, for instance.

A couple of weeks ago I came home from work and smelled Aramis in the house. Wondered what Mr 'pede had been up to whilst I was away. Turns out, he said, he put cologne on the dog's collar. Said the pooch was getting stinky and needed a bath. Now, this is a poodle, and they don't have "doggy odor" and he hadn't got into anything smelly. So...I wonder what Mr 'pede had been up to whilst I was away...
