1. We had an abandoned
super-size supermarket that was converted into a paint-ball arena.

But it closed.

3. it's exercise, and i imagine it's quite exhilirating..
it holds some appeal to me, but i wont pay the ridiculous amount of money it takes to have quality equipment and be competitive with spray and pray types.

to each his own, at least it's not sitting on your ass watching people do something..

8. The same reason...
I enjoy sitting on my ass in front of the computer... and blowing peoples heads off at Counter-Strike. Same reason you play Battlefield 1942... except they get a workout doing it. Me... I don't play... that is an expensive hobby, I'll grab my board and skate a bit for a workout anymore.

9. Paintballing
I think paintballing is fun until you decide to take the fun out of it by going to places that charge 30 dollars to do what you can do with and empty lot and some old tires. My friends and I used to play once in a while until their guns got stolen. Thats my take.

How's it going John??? haven't talked in a while.

14. Paintballing has been co-opted
It used to be 4 drunk guys with cheap guns in the woods. It's still fun if that's all it is, but with guns that cost up to thousands of dollars and tournaments with large cash awards it's gotten pretty ridiculous. The more they organize it, the more they commercialize it, the less fun it becomes.

17. I got nailed between the eyes from 60 feet away
Orange paint all OVER my face. Wasn't even wearing eye protection. Seemed hilariously funny at the time. I seem to recall there was alcohol involved...guns and alcohol: what a great combination!

I took a shot in the forhead right above the mask, heard metal ding (dont ask why because i dont know) and everything went black for a brief second. Looked like I had a hicky on my forehead for a week afterwards.

18. it's a blast!
it is defintly best played in the woods with just some friends. The start up cost are a bit pricy, its the most fun you can get for $60 on a weekend of play ($50 for 2000 rnds of paint, and 10 for co2).
It can hurt like a SOB to get popped in a tender spot or at close range, but like all pain its only temporary. But the comparing of bruises is such a manly thing ;)
It is the ultimate hide-n-seek. And it is a blast. AS LONG AS IT AINT TAKEN SERIOUSLY! I've seen things get nasty on pay fields.
If you ever come to Colorado John, I'd be more than happy to take you out to some rocky mountain meadows and "light you up!"

20. Just noticed this thread...
I love paintballing. Nothing like taking a semi-automatic paintball gun and shooting your friends. My good friend from high school has some property on a woods about 3 hours north of me and about 20 of us hunt each other in a 30+ acre lot every fall. A game usually lasts a few hours (wonder why) ;) but it's really fun. Try it sometime. :) It's also a great way for all of us to catch up on life and laugh just like old times.
