It hurts when I swallow, but it's not a sore throat... What is it? |
|
Since about 24 hours ago, every time I try swallowing it has hurt.
I had a sore throat last week, and I know that's not it.

If so, probably not much longer.

If it goes away when you drink hot liquids, then it's postnasal drip.

9. I had that for several weeks! It's not SORE, it almost feels BRUISED? |
|
(No funny remarks there, folks.)
I went to the doctor and he was stumped, but he prescribed a nasal spray to open my sinuses and make sure I was breathing through them at night, not an open mouth. I don't know if there was a connection, but my sore throat disappeared 2 days later. I think the product is Nasarel.

11. A race of tiny space aliens has landed in your throat. |
|
They are building a new city and are blasting out the freeways.
You'll feel better when you get used to it. When they drive on the freeways it can actually give a pleasant ticklish sensation.

12. Laryngitis or Pharyngitis |
|
And yes, Laryngitis does exist. Probably a virus attacking that part of your throat, sorry to say. Warm drinks, citrus fruits (if you can stand it), and any meds you can find for that purpose will help.
Hope you feel better soon! :hi:

16. Both of my kids were sick with a virus that started as a weird |
|
...sore throat that they had a hard time describing. Like it hurt in the BACK of their throats. They both no what strep feels like, and it wasn't that. The oldest tested negative for the strep.
Both ran fevers for about 3 days. They feel better now, but still breaking out in sweats and looking "peusley"....

17. dysphagia can be caused by all kinds of things |
|
I'm prone to bacterial infections of the throat, and get that a lot along with it. Not to dispense medical advice, but you probably ought to see a doctor if it doesn't clear up pretty quickly....

Sometimes it can get inflamed, sore and even have nodules. It's one of the more far-afield reasons, but it turned out to be the reason for me a few years ago. Whatever it is, I hope it clears up soon! Moni

22. It could be many things. |
|
Every time I had tonsillitis, it only hurt when I swallowed. Same thing with strep throat. Also, post nasal drip can cause that. Pharyngitis also could cause that (which is an infection of the throat). I have had any and all throat sicknesses you can imagine. So it could be any of those plus some!!
