It's the 1st time I tried it and I used image shack. They had some options for downsizing which I should have chosen.

Your pics are beautiful, can't beat a Nikon for capturing what the eye really sees. I'm just a hobbyist with a digital Olympus. Still, I thought with VA being so far away, you might enjoy it.

My favorite is that long dock though, there is a nice contrast between the pastels and those electric light bulbs. Great placement of all the elements in that photo too. In regards to the other 3, the colors are great and you caught that breaking wave just right.... I do have one suggestion which may be helpful: Perhaps you might consider wearing a shoe which has a slightly thicker heel and sole on your left foot than the one on your right foot.* ;)

I used to read a lot of photo magazines. I had a subscription to one English photo mag which featured monthly viewer submissions. These were critiqued by the magazine's expert photographers. I loved to try guessing what the experts were going to say prior to reading their critiques. Tilted horizon lines always caught their attention. No matter how stunning a submitted photo might be those guys always came down hard on that point. I suppose this is why I notice that myself so easily now.

Back then film cameras predominated and the suggested remedy for tilted horizons was to use a tripod. That helped me too.
Another thing which helped me was having a routine. I have literally shot thousands of landscape shots and I use the same routine pretty much for each shot. That routine always ends with checking the horizon line level the instant before I click the shutter. When I am rushed I do not follow my routine so well and my horizon lines are generally the first to suffer...we share that gremlin you and I.

I hope I am not sounding like a know-it-all here. I just want to pass along something I had to learn about.
