My favorite memory of Christmas....
I was just playing ELP I Believe n Father Christmas and reading a post by Airmenmom and it brought back this....

One of my favorite Christmas memories is when I was in FLA for the last Christmas with my mom...

They lived in Punta Gorda... Retired on a canal with a boat... A 36 foot with all the amenities needed for a comfortable time...

We took the boat out on Christmas Eve and just puttered around the settlement looking at all the gorgeous, sumptuous lights strung canal side... On the Palm Trees...

People out celebrating in their back yards...

Everyone calling out Merry Christmas...

It was a glorious end for my Mother...

I'll never forget that night...

2. She tried so hard.... And that was a wonderful Christmas for her...
She knew she was going to pass on soon... She fought long and hard, 18 years, she had enough... We all knew... All of us were there...

Sorry, I'm starting to cry...

7. It sounds like your mother had a wonderful last Christmas.
She was living in a beautiful place and she had you by her side.

She must have been a wonderful woman. She gave you an appreciation for life that few will ever see.

12. I'm doubly happy to hear that.
You all had the time together without dwelling on the final moment that comes to all of us someday.

I remember the poinsettias were in bloom in everyone's yard at Christmas time in Florida.
I know that part of the state quite well. It is a lovely area.

11. You know what she said to me on that rip down....
I was driving her to the grocery store...

We were never one for small talk...

She looked at me at one of the stop signs and said....

"Chris, your passion scares me about you...."

That was her way of telling me that my strong feelings about everything would cause problems for me...

Boy was she right....
