people will revolt. Last time people sat back and thought how bad could it be? Now we know he is fucking evil and we will not take his shit anymore! Who that voted for Gore will vote for Bush? We won the majority last time and this time people will be out in droves to vote against the bastard. Add to that the victims of Enron and Worldcom, environmentalists, homosexuals, the un-employed, the families of anyone hurt or killed in Iraq, and pretty much everyone that has been screwed by the tax cuts: we win hands down! If he steals it people will revolt in a way that has never been seen in America before, plus I honestly think that the rest of the world, especially Europe, will step in. WE WILL WIN!

I was watching the way the opposition stormed the Paliament of Georgia over the weekend and thought to myself " Will we ever rise together and do that in America ? It's nice here, though a bit rainy.

But I don't think you'll be buying that crappy Maaslander for long, once you're here. There are much better cheeses here.

I do feel obliged however to tell you that our present gouvernament is strongly pro-Bush. They are seen by many as weak puppets. Also, the Dutch are losing their tolerance since (or shortly before) Pim Fortuyns assassination by the far left.

....at the canal boats in Amsterdam thru an open window sipping a libation and puffing some weed. Afterward, a stroll or canal boat ride to the Rijksmuseum. Sure wouldn't hope for rain but would carry an umbrella anyway. Dream on. Later, wander around the Dam and do some people watching.

What does it cost to actually live in Holland as opposed to just visiting? Is public transportation that great? I know that bicycles are a primary mode of transportation in the cities but are they in more rural areas?

I can't shake the habit.

I hear from people that have lived in the USA that the price of commodities in the Netherlands is somewhat lower, but that luxery items are more expensive here. Houses and cars are also a lot more expensive in the Netherlands (not to mention the gas, which is about 10 dollars per gallon...I think).

Public transportation is great and bicycles are also used in rural areas ( I used to bike 40 kilometres just to visit a pub).

It's not ideal, but it's a stepping stone to where I want to go, and Mr. Politicat can work there.
