I am convinced that I.E. basically bitchslapped Firefox off my PC. It |
|
just feels like everytime I spend my day on Firefox, checking mail, streaming audio.... the rest of my funtionality seems to get disrupted and requres reboots. However, when I flip it over to I.E., all is good. It is weird.

And like I said last night, I've been using it since the early beta stages.

4. Do you use Thunderbird for your mail? |

See my post below. I'm using Fire Fox now. But I do like the Netscape version 8 better than Fire Fox. Of course I may not have the latest Fire Fox. What do I know?

8. I do on my other computer |

but I don't on this one because of a conflict with my ISP. I just use gmail on this computer. The latest version is 1.5.

3. I've been a Netscape user for years and indeed like the Netscape |
|
8 program. There was a Microsoft bug in it that would shut the program down about fourth or fifth day. The solution was to reinstall the program...This was Microsoft Online Crash Analysis Guess what? After I re-installed I lost all my mail folders, my address book and more importantly my bookmarks. The only way I could get them back on to install Fire Fox which I did and Thurnderbird for my mail. Luckily I got everything back. I'm so pissed, because I indeed like the new Netscape 8 program.
Now you're telling me this and it makes me even more upset. I hate Microsoft and all their goddamn programs.
So far no problems. But I just got it fixed 30 hours ago. I would appreicate any other input you could give me from your problems.

5. When my pc stays idle for a long time I get a message that I was low |
|
on virtual memory and that my machine would turn some of the hard drive memory into ram temporarily. Then when I click that message off, I cant do anything with my machine unless I hit escape a few times... and even then not always. I have spykiller, ad aware and a good virus program but nothing comes up that looks too weird. And I sometimes get a weird dll missing message. Something like mc2u.dll is missing or something like that. I try to locate this file and dl it from net... which I do but though it appears to be self extracting.... I still get a notice that that dll file is missing... when I try to go into control pane/ admistrator preferences/performance. Does any of this make any sense. I am by no means a legitimate geek... just wrecklessly messing with my piece of crap soon to be deceased laptop .

7. The only complaint I have with Firefox |
|
is that it takes an insanely long time to come back up from background. It's like if you're going to be doing other stuff for a while, you might as well just exit Firefox because it will probably take less time to restart when you want to browse again.
No other program I have has that much lag. Anyone else noticed this?
