Vin Santo.
This is a wonderful dessert wine (wait, keep reading!) usually made in Tuscany, athough I have seen some from the umbrian regions. It's a nutty, fruity little number you serve in slightly chilled glasses, in slightly smaller portions than most other wines.
Traditionally the grapes are air-dried in lofts, pressed, and matured for many years in oak (or often cherry-wood) casks. The casks aren't entirely full, and this causes oxidation that increases the "age" of the wine.
No, you don't need a steady diet of it. But for a wonderful after-dinner treat, take a look!

but i love the art of making wine -- and read magazines like wine spectator to keep up. thanks for the info -- it helps with the gift giving.

I was in Tuscany last summer. The wine they make there is one of the best tasting liquids on the planet. Too bad I couldn't bring any back... damn US drinking age laws...
