3. It would still dry out, I would think
because alcohol is a diuretic. And any liquid will evaporate even faster than water.

5. The tree would do fine, but make sure it's a Canadian beer
feed it Budweiser or Coors and you might end up killing the poor thing

i will share my secret recipe for putting roots back on xmas trees and allowing them to live on in yr yard for many yrs

on second thought i won't share it, but one of the ingredients is vodka (the cheapest will do, they're a cheap drunk) and liquid chlorophyll from the health food store

beer i never tried
