my brother-in -law (ESPN, cooking channel, chef extraordinaire) will be frying his 3rd turkey this Thanksgiving. At first we were sceptical, but oh my, what a culinary delight. He seasons the oil as well as the bird. A crispy twist on the tradition, but with all the tender moistness of holidays past. Only thing missing is the house filled with the scent of slow roasting.
My apologies to all the loving veggies out there.
Peace, Teresa www.votervirgin.com
PS He also has since experimented with frying all sorts of things. If you happen to enjoy experimenting in the kitchen, the fryer is an excellent addition to your lab.

Hell we can have a real good time. Super Bowl extravaganza at bearfan's house. I will put in to be off that night at work. I do every year. Midnights suck, but it pays the bills.

4. Set it up outdoors if you do it |
|
it's not worth it to have that huge amount of boiling oil inside the house.
Deep-fried turkey is delicious and it cooks in about 1/3 of the time as roasting.

A friend of mine always does one traditional and one fried. He injects some kind of herb solution into the bird before he drops it in, and it's amazing. Never had such a moist turkey as what comes out of the friers.

Brother-in-law in Dallas is deep frying this year, and I'm a willing participant.
Goes with the rule that most good things are better deep-fried. :)

Once you have a fried turkey, you'll never go back. It's more expensive (with the oil and initial expense of the fryer) but in my opinion, it's worth it.

I'll be spending the holiday with a cousin and his family. I've been told one turkey will be deep fried. I've heard good things, can't wait to try it.
