Thanksgiving Has Been Canceled!!!
My partner and I have decided that we're boycotting Thanksgiving this year. We're both vegetarians, and, thanks to the Shrub, we don't have a hell of a lot to be thankful for this year.

So we've decided to skip the Tofurky feast, and send the money we would have spent on it to Howard Dean instead. Hopefully come this time next year he'll have cooked Dumbya's goose, and then we can all celebrate.

Is anyone else feeling less-than-festive in these dark times? We pretty much refuse to spend a single penny we don't absolutely have to spend while that moron is squatting in the White House.

1. :: raises hand ::
I too am not feeling festive ... maybe next year . This week I feel like whatever - Bush wants to send my friends to bleed in Iraq - I'm not in a turkey eating mood .

2. It just so happens that
with the sales this week, Turkey is just about the least expensive thing a non-vegetarian can eat. My family is having the usual bird with feast et al.

And no - I'm not letting the facists spoil my holidays at all. But I'm setting aside some funds for charities and candidates and I buy from socially concious vendors.

3. oh come now
The holidays are the one thing the facists can't take away from you! I would say have Thanksgiving dinner anyway and make your toast to the defeat of the unelected moron.

5. Shrub is good for my diet...
Seriously. I really do lose my desire to eat (or breathe) when I see that rotten S.O.B. on the television. He's better than Fen-Phen. I bet bulimics love him, too.

4. I agree with you..............
but I won't let my personal thoughts interfere with my family's celebration. We have a tradition of each stating the reasons we are thankful for the year before we eat, when it's my turn I'll interject my thoughts. However, I think I'll send a donation to Dean as well. Why not? I'm thankful there's finally a candidate that speaks for me and has a chance of dethroning Emporer Bush.

6. Whew! That's A Relief! Can We Cancel Christmas Too?
Personally, one year is never long enough for me to prepare fully for the Winter Solstice holidays and all the festive trimmings.

Quite frankly, I think we should celebrate it once every four years... like we do with Leap Year or the Olympic Games. That gives us plenty of time to prepare... it also gives us time enough to recover (emotionally and financially) from the previous celebrations.

8. Ooh, I like that idea!
only celebrating the holidays every four years. Much less trouble, and much less aggravation when trying to go buy a damn screwdriver at Sears - I wouldn't be faced with 10,000 'morans' all trying to buy everything in the store so they can give useless crap to 200 people.

9. Your loss- their win
Never let those you oppose direct your actions. They only get pleasure from your loss. I'm cooking a turkey and having many friends over. I will never give in.
