Movies you just can't be bothered with
A movie you can't be bothered with isn't a movie that is so bad that no one bothers with it - but a movie that seems like everyone likes but you have no interest whatsoever in seeing it.

For me - it's all those Harry Potter movies. Ho-hum, bore me. Just can't see any interest to why I would bother watching these movies. I was never interested in the books and the movies hold no interest to me whatsoever.

What movies can't you be bothered with?

I've never seen Top Gun either. And I like it that way.

LOTR I bored me - and I liked the books in Jr High. No desire to see the other ones.

Matrix was OK, but I have no desire to see it over again two more times.

:boring:

12. Return of the King
From all the hype surrounding the LOTR films, you'd think they were the best thing to happen to mankind since the invention of the printing press or something.

The first two movies failed to appeal to me on an emotional level.

16. Snatch
Absolutely the worst film ever. Couldn't understand a word they were saying and slept through most of it - even though Brad Pitt was in it.

Oh yeah, and Blood Work by Clint Eastwood was terrible!! Utter junk. What is happening to Clint?

I also don't get into Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter - they bore me.

Did you ever see "Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels"?

I liked them both, but to each their own.

I agree wholeheartedly with your last sentence though.

30. Ditto the others
Men come off looking really good in that movie. Yes, it is a chick-flick, but it's not male-bashing at all. More like crazy mother bashing.

18. Any fantasy/sci fi film is automatically a non-must-see for me.
And that includes LOTR, Matrix, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc., etc., etc. I fell out of love with those genres long, long ago in a universe not far away. I have seen both Harry Potters because I have an 8-year-old daughter.

22. Anything whose previews contain
a lot of car chases and explosions. This tells me that it has car chases and explosions instead of a plot or characterization.

Any movie whose entire plot is told in the previews. This is why I have never seen "Finding Forrester." Why pay good money, when I saw the whole film in a three-minute condensed version?

Indie films populated by stupid, chain-smoking, foul-mouthed lowlifes, as if that's a really original concept.

23. Short list of movies I couldn't be arsed to see.
Pretty Woman
Lethal Weapon (all of them)
Top Gun
Die Hard (all of them)
Any Bond movie without Sean Connery
Jerry Mcguire

There are tons more that are popular, but I can't think of them at the moment.

34. Anything marketed primarily to teenage boys
which means 90% of Hollywood's annual output. "LOOK! Things go BOOM!" "LOOK! Skinny starlets show their boobies while all the 'teenaged' boys (actually 30-year-old men) keep all their clothes on!" "LOOK! Men with guns!" "LOOK! Boys doing dumbass things (as if that's unusual)!" "Fast cars/boats/planes going BOOM!"

Snooze-o-rama.

I also have virtually no interest in seeing anything that anyone refers to as "heart-warming" - that generally translates to manipulative and treacly.

I haven't seen a Hollywood-made movie in years that deserved to lick the boots of a movie like Whale Rider.

36. Pulp Fiction...
...was that movie for me. I saw a trailer for it and it looked totally uninteresting but when it was released EVERYONE was raving about it. I thought that was strange because usually a trailer will make a movie look even better and more exciting that it actually is. After "Pulp Fiction" became a big hit I'd still see trailers for it now and then when I'd rent a video and it still looked completely uninteresting to me. I started thinking that maybe this is one of those instances in which the trailer doesn't do the movie justice. I ended up renting the damned thing when it came out on video. Guess what, I thought the movie was just as boring and pointless as the trailer.

These days it's those damned "Matrix" movies that I can't be bothered with. I actually saw the first one and actually almost fell asleep.
