Fantasy Fight Thread (LOTR Edition)
Who would win in a fight between the following teams of LOTR characters....

Team (A): Aragon, Gimli and Sam

Team (B): Boromir, Legolas and Frodo

Team (C): Treebeard, Theoden and Merry

Team (D): Gandalf, Sauromon and Pippin

Assuming they'd all be fighting eachother, at once, and there were no good guys/bad guys - it was just a Royal Rumble-ish showdown.

For my money, I go with Team D - who can possibly stop the combined power of two White Wizards?

(I know this post serves no practical purpose, but can't you just play along?)

1. I really wanted Earendil to come down on Vingilot with all the birds
of heaven and just twat everyone with the Silmaril.

Winner of most Nerdy post.

PS It's team C. Treebeard would just stomp anyone. Theoden would have brought a couple Eored of good riders and Merry can kill the Witchking with his Numenorean sword from the Barrow Downs.

2. Gandalf Alone Could defeat any of the other teams
Edited on Mon Nov-24-03 12:27 PM by Beetwasher
Gandalf and Saruman together would be practically unbeatable. Why would they even need Pippin?

FYI, Gandalf ONLY became a white wizard AFTER Saruman was defeated. I'm not sure, but I think there can be only ONE white wizard in LOTR mythos. Gandalf move up to white from grey.

4. yeah
Sorta. There's three types of wizards - White, Grey and Brown. Although we never hear about the brown one (that's the wizard of trees and stuff, I think).

And Gandalf became white after he died to counteract Sauromon. So I guess there can be two white wizards in LOTR at the same time.

8. technically
White is more powerful than grey. White is the highest, grey the second highest, and brown the third highest.

White, I believe, can control almost anything.

Grey can control animals and people.

Brown can control plants and animals.

White and grey are also skilled fighters. Brown, I believe, is not.

3. Well, if it's a true Royal Rumble
Team C wins. Treebeard could just put roots down and no one would be able to toss him over the top rope.

5. I add a Team (E)
Team (E): G W Bush, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove

Combine teams (A) through (D), and have them pile on Team (E). For fairness, we'll allow Team (E) to call in pre-emptive airstrikes months before the fight is arranged, even after Saruman is declared not to possess weapons of magic destruction.
