One more reason why I hate my boss
She just drug the guy from Facilities in here to look at rearranging to cublicle in the back of my office. She wants to expand it by about 10 inches. I have no idea why. To do this requires that we get rid of our microwave cart and *gasp* our microwave.

And did she consult with any of us peons who actually use the microwave on a daily basis? No she did NOT!

From now on we have to go and find a microwave in another department if we want to heat up lunch or a cup of water for tea or whatever. Goddammit. She didn't even ask us.

5. Oh, she did a walk through...
the office with one of our supervisory auditors last week talking about how she was thinking of doing it. She made it pretty clear at that point that she didn't want any input from us peons.

Since it doesn't affect her her basic philosophy (which I just heard her state to the Facilities guy) is "y'all can go down to the HR breakroom". *huge sigh*

9. I like to sleep indoors.
And you'd be surprised how fast the State can fire someone for beating up their boss.

8. Sounds like a plan.
It's really cold in here today too. Could kill two birds with one stone. I could finally get warm and have a fun afternoon snack. :-)

You're brilliant! *smooches*

11. Presumably she intends
that you spend YOUR lunch time looking for another microwave?

One of the people I supervised told me that those who appear to be without power always get even.

We were on a ship at the time and he told me how he had once used the Captain's toothbrush to clean the toilet while the Captain was in the next room berating him.

15. She can be incredibly petty.
This is the same woman who had a little rant in a staff meeting about lunch hours. That any time those of us who eat at our desks spent going downstairs to the cafeteria or to the vending machines had to be counted - as if those extra 5 minutes were going to bankrupt the State. Of course, at the same time she didn't say a word about the people who leave the building for lunch and never come back on time (which of course would include her ass). :eyes:

12. Rent the movie "Office Space"
for a good laugh and some reassurance that you are not alone in this!

The worse the economy gets, the more people in high places on major power trips - it sucks.

I ever bought on dvd. I love "Office Space". I think it was even filmed here in Austin - it looks that familiar.

14. It was filmed here.
We're moving to a location that looks EERILY familiar. I think the exterior shots were filmed in the Braker/Metric area where we're off to next year sometime. :D

19. That sounds like fun.
Might be worthwhile to look back around the IBM campus too. Hmmm...may be time to wander on over to Google and see what I can find out about where they filmed that flick.

Hee...I helped high-jack my own thread. GO ME!

25. They've got that on sale...
at Home Depot this week. $4.99 per square foot. The oak veneer is a little cheaper but not as attractive I don't think.
