"Wilf should keep Tice as head coach

After all the off-the-field turmoil this season, the Vikings coach turned around a 2-5 team and deserves to be around as they continue to upgrade."

Sorry, but Tice is really a sub-par coach out of his element. He is far better as an assistant. He cannot control his team, and often sets a bad example for them by his public behavior. He is not professional enough, and he has led what should have been very good teams to mediocre performances the last three years!!!

1. I can't stand Tice.
I swear to god, I will not watch another game of Vikings football if he's back next year. I'll refuse to watch until we get a new coach. I cannot stand Tice! :grr:

2. The one thing that I like about Tice
w/o qualification is that the players never stopped playing hard this year. That speaks well to Tice's ability to relate to the team. I hate to admit that I agree with Sid, but I'd give Tice a 2 year extension. Given that Zygi has made it clear he will spend money in the free agent market and on the coaching staff, I think Tice deserves a chance with an owner who will give him the staff and players any coach needs to be successful in the NFL.

I won't be crying in my beer if Tice goes, but I will miss his frankness. At least he answers questions, whereas Denny laid down such an impenetrable fog of utter bullshit that you practically suffocated listening to him talk.

4. I hate to say it...
But they had the players this year....there is no way with the changes they made, particularly on defense that they should have missed the playoffs.

Denny may have obfuscated alot in public (most coaches do), but he was a winner!

7. Tice is a buffoon.

There are so many things that I don't like about him, some of which I just can't explain other than them just being "feelings" I get when I listen to him "bloviate" (as Bereiro would say) on TV and radio.

He takes credit for the work of others all the time. He takes shots at the history of the vikings and the old met stadium. He makes excuses for his sub-par performances. He takes shots at the fans. He scalps super bowl tickets and then bitches about minnesota fans selling their tickets to Pittsburg fans, despite the fact that most of those people sold their season tickets earlier in the season when they were absolute SHIT and were more interested in getting BJ's on Lake Minnetonka then they were about winning football games. He is absolutely incapable of adjusting at half time. He creates unneeded drama between himself and the players ala Mewelde Moore, Michael Bennett, Troy Williamson etc. He cannot go through an entire game without making some kind of sbustitution on the offensive line thereby eliminating ANY chance that they will learn to work together. (This same problem applies to running backs). He has an unexplainable desire to make Ciatrick Fason (220 pounds dripping wet) their third down "power" back, despite his inability to convert short yardage situations.......EVER. Not to metion his public, embarrasing endorsement of George W. Bush. I'll never like him. Zigi should just start over clean (save perhaps Ted Cottrell). I don't think Mike Tice could win a supre bowl with all the talent in the world. He's just not qualified for the position. The only reason he is there in the first place is because Red McCombs was too cheap to hire a real coach. Well, Red's gone, so we need to get that real coach now.

As another poster said, they HAD the people this year to be successful.
