Why do the staff at Subways have so much attitude?
Every time I go to one - doesn't matter which one - I always get an attitude from them. I never especially get one at McD's, Krispy Kreme, or any other fast food restaurants. It seems as though it's sort of like a rite of passage there.

Is it just me?

 :D

EDIT: I don't know then - it must just be me. Because I'm trying to think of another chain restaurant where I consistently get an attitude, and I can't - TGIF, no - BK - no, that soup place - no. It's just Subway.

6. Are you anti-union?
Just because the transportation workers went on strike and shut down the subways is no reason to tag them with an attitude.
I am pro-union and ... oh, Subways .... nevermind.

8. It seems like a pretty crappy job.
I can see an employee there being a tad surly.

10. I didn't have an attitude when I worked there...
I was just terrified the whole time. I was incredibly slow, made everything wrong, couldn't even cut the bread properly... I'm pretty sure I was the most incompetent "sandwich artist" they ever employed! Weird 'cause I've had no major problems at any of the jobs I've had since... it was just not my kind of job at all and, needless to say, I got out of there as fast as I could. (It was my summer job when I was sixteen.) So, I don't really mind Subway employees having attitudes; with that job it's understandable.

13. Probably because the franchisers get screwed by corproate all the time
Fast Food Nation covers it - apparently its one of the worst companies to have a franchise with....ends up costing you more money than you make...

14. I worked at a Subway for two years. It sucked.
I was getting paid 5.75 an hour to make sandwiches for assholes. You spend enough time in that environment, you get pissy.

There's actually quite a lot of "prep" involved in working at a Subway, unlike many of the other fast food chains...that's one reason I hated it.

Another was the fact that the Subway I worked at was in New Orleans, right near a big section of Tulane's "frat row," so I was constantly making sandwiches for drunken swingin'-dick jock shitheads and their slatternly sorority sperm recepticles.

Another reason I hated it was that I had to do homework while I worked. I was going to college (at UNO) during the day and bringing my books and papers to Subway at night to try to cram in any homework and/or study time I could get, so I was constantly frustrated by customers interrupting my study time.

Also, I was an immature little prick back then with a horrible attitude. But that's neither here nor there.

16. Subways in cities are horrible.
The teenage punks have HUGE attitudes. Usually it's the spoiled, suburbanite mall-rats who don't want to be working.

In smaller towns I've always had great service.
