WOOOOHOOOOOOO . . . I think I'm getting a new car next week
:P

YAY, the posts over the past couple of days that mentioned Honda Elements prompted me to check into it. I'm preapproved for the funds, I just have to make the final decision as to whether I wnat to increase my car payment or not (will cost me about $80-100 more than what I'm paying now, which I can afford without too much trouble).

WOOOOHOOOOO

I want the kind of a burnt orange color :P

1. Ooh I'm jealous!
I really need a new car. Well, not a NEW new car, but one that's newer than my 11 year old mustang.

When will you decide?

4. The burnt orange is pretty schnazzy
But just as a heads up, clean the garage WELL before you get the car home.

There was some last minute frantic shifting in our garage last night, and it was down to mere inches on all sides what with the boxes of stuff and all.... if I posted a picture you wouldn't believe that the boxes were there first before the car.... it looked like a wall of stuff had been piled around the car.

Yeah, we went last night and did the deed!

12. Okay, I may pick it up tomorrow
I went with black instead of orange because to get orange would have required more money and a transfer from another dealer. Doing it this way, I got it for $2,000 off of the sticker, and got an exhorbitantly high trade-in on my Nissan ($7,500 when I had pegged it at $6,000 or so).

Sooooo, barring any nastiness with the finance company, I should have it tomorrow :P

Do a happy dance for me dammit! (I tell ya, salescritters are very eager come the end of December) :P

15. let me be the lone dessenter and say dont do it
Try and get rid of your car payments, not make them bigger.

Its a financial mistake.

16. Don't think I haven't thought that.
I just want the extra space and utility that it offers.

Is it a necessity? Nope. But it would save me a LOT of headaches for those times when I have to get a friend to help me with simple things like moving a large printer or table because it won't fit in my car.

I'm tired of not having any space for anything but me.

Financially, it may very well be a mistake, but it's one that I can afford without to much heartache.

17. Or buy a year old one and shave a few thousand off the price
Though at the end of the year like this, you might find a dealer who is trying desperately to unload his stock.

19. I'm getting an 05. An 06 would add about 2 grand to the price.
I'm getting a pretty good deal as far as I can tell. I've done a bunch of price checking and research, etc.

I'm getting a good price on the Honda, and a great trade-in on my Nissan.

20. YAY!!
I always suggest buying a used car.

Sounds like you're getting a good deal - a nice discount, a good trade in.

Not much more you could ask for! And you might even be able to dicker them down a bit more, since it's the last day of the year.
