I sent my credit card and driver's licence through the wash.
AND the dryer. Do you think it demagnetized the little strip?

4. Yeah, go to Walgreen's and buy something small.
When I just want cash I buy a package of Listerine strips, or some soap or shampoo.

3. Well, here's one way to find out.
Go buy a small bottle of cheap water and see if it still works. If it doesn't, take enough cash with you to pay in cash. You'll find out without going into too much debt.

7. Those processes cannot demagnetize the strip
You need an electrical field for that.

However, the magnetic strip is probably fucked up, though not demagnetized.

9. It is!
That is the meta-category of damage. "Demagnetized" is a specific category within the meta-category.

11. IMO, you should use both of them immediately
to drive out and buy a new plasma television. Oh, yeah, and a package of Corn-Nuts. Don't forget those.
