I Know Y'all Miss My Whining, So - |
|
I came down with my 5th kidney infection this year about two weeks ago. I began an antibiotic that my last infection responded to, and within a day I was testing negative for infection. I finished the entire course exactly as prescribed, and a *day* after finishing it, I'm testing strongly positive for an infection again. Shit. No wonder I feel so crappy.
At least I'm not cooking this year (we're going out for TG) but I'd like to spend one fucking holiday without a life-threatening infection, dammit.

That must be awful. With all those infections, perhaps you are becoming resistant to the antibiotics they are giving you. I'm allergic to penicillin and the myocin family, so I usually take Cipro. It's pretty powerful and has more side effects, but it certainly seems to knock anything out.
Hope you're feeling better soon.

3. My Infections Are Resistant to Cipro |
|
and sulfas and nitrofurantoin and some others I've forgotten. I'm hoping I don't have to park my ass in the hospital for a few days to get Vancomycin, whine.
Of course they're resistant to Cipro - I tolerate Cipro extremely well!
Thanks for the good wishes.

4. Actually, I don't get side effects |
|
from Cipro myself. I have to take it about four or five times a year for sinus infections, one of which I think is creeping up on me now.
Vancomycin will certainly do the trick, but I hope it's not necessary. Keep us posted and let us know if you have to go to the hospital. Hope it can wait until after Thanksgiving.

5. That happened to me before with a lung infection. |
|
I finished the antibiotics, and the next day the infection came back, but this time in my sinuses. So I had to go BACK to the doctor AGAIN (I hate going to the doctor), and get a whole new set of pills. The new ones were real, real nasty. They killed my stomach.
