Irony: MTV exec criticizes pop music reality shows
For turning talentless hacks onto the populace.

Like MTV wasn't doing that the day Carson Daly was hired.

1. Or "The Real World"?
Put a bunch of pretty boys and girls in an apartment and watch the fun.

Wanna make it real? Move 'em and and tell them rent is $500 each a month, plus utilites. Then Justin will have to finish his shift washing dishes at Denny's before he can go to his bithcin' band practice.

2. Lame
There are so many acts that are so irritating now. The only artists that really put out good stuff is Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, and maybe Jack Johnson (there are probably more as well). The punk bands even suck. Like the song, "Stacy's Mom"? God, that is like the number one song and it sucks a fat one.

However, I think we have reached a transistion point in the music industry. What will it turn into? I don't know, but I hope we will see more promise in the near future.

5. there are a few good ones
Motorhead for those who like metal, they are an old band - since the mid 70's - but getting better with age. Also they aren't an american band, some of the overseas metal is better becuase of different influences and backgrounds of the artists.
Garbage is also good for a pop kind of band that has alot of varying sounds and styles incorparated into the music. Also the singer is from overseas - I love her accent.
Really I find myself listening to older stuff more than the newer stuff.
Blink 182, Rancid, Social Distortion for punk bands.

4. They try to convince us Avril is "punk"
While she has the most market savvy PR and production team propelling her career.
