Springfield, IL DUer's. Suggestions for temp. housing?
I have just received a job offer and would need to move to the Springfield area for the duration of the position. It should last until next November, but I need to prepare for the possibility it ends in mid-March. I'll be going back to Chicago when it's over, and I don't want to be tied into a yearlong lease should it end in March.

So if anyone knows of a good source for tracking down housing in Springfield, let me know.

I'll be away from my computer all afternoon, but will check this thread when I do get home. So don't get upset if you post a question to me and I haven't answered it.

Thanks people.

1. There's a university in Springfield, isn't there?
There may likely be apartments that cater to students on a student schedule: semester by semester.

2. I'm originally from Springfield
There is a nice apartment complex on the city's west side called "Old Towne Apartments". It is located on Bruns Lane. They offer 3, 6 and 12 month leases.

3. Cardboard box and an underpass are a great combination.
Try looking for a sublet, I saw one site called sublet.com, might be helpful...if not, there's probably a mildly inexpensive hotel/motel around that you could stay at for 2 or 3 weeks until you found a great place. It's damn near impossible to look for good housing if you aren't in the actual city.
