3. Sex Does Not Mean Gender
Gender is something quite different from sex. Gender is a political construct, not a natural fact. It may be a political construct built over a natural fact, but the point here is that they are not one and the same.

There is substantial resistance among people who believe that gender differences ought to be emphasized and promoted. Baby girls wear pink booties; baby boys wear blue booties. This example is harmless in itself, but the ideology of gender assigns adult virtues by sex. Men are said to be more courageous; women are said to be contented to do boring, repetitive work.
