Waste of bandwidth?
For a long time I've contemplated trying to do a rock and roll genealogy. I even started one on a giant piece of paper. A bit unwieldy. Anyway, so's I've been thinking. The net is a great format for something like this, and a cursory search comes up with nothing of note.

The idea would be something like this (it's almost a six degrees of seperation kind of thing):

There are certain seminal artists who played with many others, like Al Kooper and John Mayall and Jimmy Page and Lou Reed, for example. You start with a page with them, and you can build backwards or forwards. Visitors could suggest links, and the host can connect a new page for any that make the cut. That page would show the bands they played in or artists they played with, with links to each of them.

Seems like fun, but I don't have a web page and probably don't have the expertise to handle it anyway. So I am throwing it out here, for FREE, for ideas, criticsm, insults, help, interest, and/or archive-bait.
