I just registered for the AARP message board.
My name on that board is affectionately known as GWB04NO.

My second post over there was in reply to a post titled "Bend Over America". The reply:

"I just turned fifty earlier this year. I've had my membership on my desk since early spring just forgetting to send it in.

There is something to be said for putting things off. The membership will now sit on my desk indefinately, that is if it doesn't "accidently" fall into the circular file."

There are so amny cancelling subscriptions over there and downright pissed off at the dim son and his empire it is unbeleivable. I probably won't post there very much but I just felt it cool to post on another message board full of like minded thinkers.

1. I'm cancelling my membership to aarp
just as soon as I can find some other auto insurance. I currently mine get through aarp Hartford. I will be letting them know why I'm cancelling, too, and wanting my money back.

2. Check out the AARP message board.

Some of the membership over there are saying they can get less expensive insurance on their own while others are saying they can still get their discount even if they cancel their AARP membership.

It might just be talk but it's still worth a look anyway.

3. When I Phoned AARP, I Got The Impression That Only Members
that phoned were being counted - not us hold outs. I've been holding out on becoming a member also because of this bill.

6. I phoned yesterday - here's Plan A, Stage TWO!
When I called, I was very polite to the nice girl on the phone. After all, it ain't her fault, and she'll suffer probably more from this crap than I will.

So, here's Plan A, Stage II. Every business reply card in the AARP magazine gets mailed back with just the message: "SHAME ON YOU, AARP, FOR SELLING US OUT ON MEDICARE!"

Every card, every issue, including cards to advertisers, too. Only exception is if my name is printed on the card, or I would have to pay postage.

Let's do it!

7. I've been over there reading their board too
My registration has been sitting on my desk too unmailed. I'll mail it now, without any registering, just a note that I don't patronize or help make wealthy sell-outs.

I've thought about posting, and probably after Thanksgiving I'll go over and do so. BTW, I like you name GWB004NO :) It's interesting to read posts made by this age group because their knowledge /memory base is so far advanced than ours is here. I learned a few new things today.

I did join a few months ago the Alliance for Retired People http://www.retiredamericans.org/ and last night I signed up with the Gray Panthers www.graypanthers.org

I'd like to see how we all can organize and have Medicare reinstated in the next administration. Keep doing it until we have it back the way it should be.

I don't know, maybe we can begin a DU chapter.
