Need some help with a "love song" ...
I'm trying to choose the song for my parent's anniversary party. They don't have a song, and I wanted to give them one - but, I'm stuck. Could you suggest some?

By the way, they'll be celebrating their 35th. Thanks, in advance, for any and all help.

3. Taylor Dayne
"I'll always love you" is a beautiful love song. It was the wedding song me and my husband choose for our wedding dance 13 years ago.

5. OK since ya DIDN'T answer
One of the all time BEST songs IMHO for anniversaries is Sinatra's song ALL THE WAY.

Was from that era. You can't go wrong with that one.

10. Yeah, unless they hate each other by now. Otherwise
Got to be one of the best lovesongs ever, and there are a dozen versions to choose from. Righteous Brothers is hard to beat. A more modern one is Leann Rhymes, which is surprisingly good.

Of course, if they do hate each other by now, try Paradise by the Dashboard Lights. "I swore I'd love you til the end of time. So now I'm praying for the end of time..."

7. In 1968, the Delfonics had a huge hit with "La-La Means I Love You."

It's one of the mushiest love ballads ever waxed, but also one of the greatest because it's soulful as hell.

12. Little Trip to Heaven by Tom Waits on the album Closing Time
Edited on Wed Nov-26-03 02:05 AM by Melodybe
His voice is scratchy kind of like Louie Armstrong but how can you go wrong with lyrics like this: It kind of has a jazzy piano bar sound, perfect for dancing.

Little trip to heaven on the wings of your love
Banana moon is shinin' in the sky
I feel like I'm heaven when you're with me
I know that I'm heaven when you smile
Though we're stuck here on the ground
I've got something that I found
And it's you

I don't have to take no trip to outer space
All I have to do is look at your face
And before I know it I'm in orbit around you
Thankin' my lucky stars that I found you
When I see your constellation
Honey, you're my inspiration
And it's you

You're my North Star when I'm lost and feelin' blue
You're the sun that's breakin' thru the clouds
Don't you know, don't you know it's true
Honey all the other stars seem dim around you
Thankin my lucky stars that I found you
When I see your smilin' face
Honey, I know nothings ever gonna take your place
And it's you
And it's you-oooo
Repeat to end

With a little doobie doo wap doo wow that the end

You can almost see them playing this is some old movie with a soldier and his gal dancing in a smokey bar. The music is kind of haunting and sad because they are about to say good bye to each other, or some junk. You get the picture, it is a very romantic song. It is also the best Anniversary song ever! It is the song my husband and I danced to at our wedding. Enjoy.

11. Unforgettable
And even better, have your dad sing it if he knows the words.

Trust me.

Peace,

13. "Ring of Fire" Cash, best love song ever, but I'm quite jaded
Reconsidering, I'd say LL Cool J "Doin' It"

Reconsidering again (for real) try looking at some Sting, he's got stuff that might appeal to the 'rents and yourself.

17. My 75 year old cousin and I both like this
Years ago she heard Bob Hope's wife sing it to him on television. By the dreamy smile and look in her eyes I knew that was how she felt about her husband, too.

JUST THE WAY YOU ARE, Lyrics by BILLY JOEL

Don't go changing, to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore

I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times, I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are.

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you.

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are.
