These people have to stop doing this to me.
The majority of the time now, when I park in a space, I will come back to my car only to find a mini van, pick up or SUV parked on one or both sides of my vehicle. So I slowly begin to back out and you know you can't see squat on either side and then you hear the horn of someone coming down the parking row like a bat out of hell. Like I can see you butt hole!

1. I know just what you mean. Friggin' boats.
And why is it, in right turn on red states, when you're in the right-hand lane waiting to turn, some huge truck or van has to pull almost into the oncoming traffic so that you can't see anymore?

2. That's a bad one too. You have to be half way out in the intersection
before you can see around them.

3. This is one of my pet peeves.
I will check to see that all is clear before I start backing out of a parking space. In the middle of backing up, a car will come along and, instead of stopping while I finish backing up, they will go on by and risk my hitting them. :banghead:

4. I drive a minivan and have the same problem...
Not with other minivans, which I can usually see around, but pickup trucks and SUVs. I inevitably seem to wind up parked between two Ford Extravaganzas or something.

Mostly, I just try to park far away from anyone else. Parking lots are crazy these days.

7. Some places have "Compact Car Only" spaces. I vote for universal
parking laws that dictate "Behemoth Parking Only" spaces at the far end of the lot. That goes for every oversized SUV and every jacked up quad cab pickup out there.

9. Here in LA
"compact" parking applies to anything smaller than a Hummer. Heck, I've even seen a BMW SUV parked in a "motorcycles only" stall.

We also have some of the smallest parking spaces on earth. I drive a Nissan Sentra and often have trouble finding a stall large enough (because there are so many fucking SUVs and/or people who can't park straight). The bane of my existence: the parking garage at the Sherman Oaks Galleria.

8. Yeah, happens all the time
I drive a small car and I've taken to finding spaces where I can pull up into the next spot
so I don't have to back out-doesn't help the "bloated boat" problem tho...
and there's hardly any room to open my doors!:grr:

10. This is a big issue
if you drive package trucks like for UPS or just if you drive large vans and such which have poor visibility (mirrors only in many cases). Same goes for mail vehicles and whatnot

Most times they train you to back into spaces whenever possible, which many times means parking further away, which has the built-in advantage of less possibility of some asshole parking next to you and dinging up your vehicle

Same thing happened to me today. It's not just annoying, it's dangerous.

Khash.
