An old photo I recently ran across. (large-ish)
I have a friend who was a caretaker for an older man who recently passed away. My friend was able to choose from possessions that were in this mans family for years because for whatever reasons, his kids didnt want them.

Amazing photos of bombs on Nevada bases back in the day, pictures of the Golden Gate being built, a huge crazy decoy duck boat....Things I would adore.

But my favorite picture is this one. Its the mans father with President Johnson in year unknown.
Notice him pointing at his awesome plate.

I love this photo.

5. Couple clues about the year
The man's car is a '63 Cadillac El Dorado, and that's a '63 Chevy in the background.

6. Probably 1962 or early 1963 ('62 Chevy in background)

What is so sad is that the "kids" didn't want a part of history. Would be in a dumpster now lost forever.

7. '62 Chevy; I stand corrected
Just compared the two at carnut.com. I always get those two mixed up. :eyes:

8. Is OK, I owned one in '69, still have registration in collage.
SS with a 327 250HP Powerglide and floor console, posi, Power steering and Air Conditioning. Loaned it to my sister and she wrapped it around a pole, too "fast" for her.

Still haven't forgiven her for that one.:grr:

10. Exactly

And I bought the last 1980 4-spd El Camino manufactured in North America new in Feb. 1980 (special order), kept it till 1987 when I bought my Buick Regal Turbo slick roof bench seat aluminum bumper SS/EA stealth car. Never raced it. But the option delete made it 450lbs. lighter than a Grand National or GNX.

It was one of 18 they made in 1987 out of total Turbo Regal production of just under 1700.

I still own it.

I'll scan a picture of the two of them in in the next day or two or pop it into a post.
