the most generous gesture I have ever received!
Edited on Wed Nov-26-03 12:01 PM by LuLu550
I work in a school and was co-advisor of our drama club with another woman. She knows I have lost more than $400 a month in child support over the last two months and am being sued by my Ex for "overpayment of support" to the tune of $10,000. She just walked into my office and signed over her portion of our stipend for doing the play...more than $500, saying I needed it more than she did and that she hoped it would help us to be able to have a better holiday celebration.
I am in shock and utter disbelief that anyone could be so generous...she has kids, too and worked just as hard on the play....

I just had to acknowledge her kindness and compassion!

6. Yes, Virginia, there once WAS a Santa Claus...
And his spirit lives on in that lady and her gift to you! Happy Thanksgiving; and thank God for people like her--she really sets the example! I'm glad she chose to set it by helping you.:D

B-)

Hearing about kind acts like this gives us all hope. So glad that you were on the receiving end of such a kind gesture.

12. Last holiday season,
one of the poorer schools in the district I work for received a surprise gift from an anonymous donor. Inside were $100 checks made out to each teacher at the school, with a thank-you card and a note saying they were to use the money for their OWN holiday. It was an astonishingly generous and gratefully-received gift.

There are decent people in the world. Sometimes we forget that.
