Yee hah! Going to the Macy's parade balloon blowing up this afternoon! |
|
Did the parade a few years ago - will never, ever do that again. What a waste of time.
But going to the balloon blowing up - that's cool. And fun!
I'll take pics, but since my server is still out, I can't post 'em. Sorry everyone.
Anyone else going?

I'll say, "Spongebob! BurtWorm says howdy!" And Spongebob will float there, mute, in an unsocial way. He'll probably be loaded up on amphetamines, anyway. Or Oxycontin.

It was quite spiffy. A way to do the whole parade in 45 minutes, with a chance for a bathroom break at the Museum of Natural History, and then it's done. No waiting in line, no freezing to death, no watching the parade and going "WTF? All the bands are wearing parkas and heavy clothing and not playing?" (TRUE dat - they wear all their heavy winter clothing, then, right before they are seen on camera, they take them off and that's why you see bands in those skimpy band uniforms, becuase they've wakled the whole parade in parkas, and not playing a whole lot (and not playing at all for the last many blocks, because the sound bleeds through to the TV cameras).
I hope at some point they retire that abomination Barney, and also that amrketing sleazoid artistic sellout Garfield.
Not so windy this year so big bird's beak wasn't penetrating into Charlie Brown's arse, bobbing up and down in the wind, like it was last year (and I have pictures of that, but since my server is down, I can't post 'em!). A nice, enjoyable, 45 minute run through of the important parts of the Macy's Day parade.
BurtWorm - SpongeBob Squarepants was not there, not even in a deflated state. Are you sure he was supposed to be there? Or maybe he was on a bender with Rush.

7. Do they ever make them go 'pop'? |
|
That would be fun - until my ears stopped ringing.
Seriously - they should take a queue from Burning man and offer at least one float as a sacrifice - preferrably one of a character they know won't be so chic next year.

8. God, that would be so totally cool!! |

I WOULD go to the parade then!
"Hey, Jimmy - look, they're setting barney on fire now, symbolizing our culture's hatred toward the inane and vapid and our inner desire to set Kenny G and Thomas Kinkade on fire, but we can't becuase of stupid laws that keep us from killing people no matter how much they deserve it. What that sumbitch explode, Jimmy! Take that, Thomas Kinkade! F^ YOU!"
