Stupid asshole bosses.

My direct supervisor is out of the office this whole week. Today 2 of the big bosses from from the other office came over and professional staff had to meet with them. (I am considered professional as oppose to support staff, how exciting)
So the meeting turns into a great big feeding frenzy. Attack those who are not there to defend themselves and give us lots of veiled threats of do everything perfect or your dept will be taken over by the State, you will all be out of a job, be on the street, homeless, or in jail.
And my day started out so good.

1. Wow. Sounds like my old job

except, sometimes we would hear, "We know you are doing a good job, BUT..."

Then why you are not really doing a good job, even tho' you're understaffed, overworked, and underpaid for all you need to know.

2. One of my co-workers, a real kiss up type, came into my office

after the meeting and said "I thought that went well, didn't you?"
I said, NO!.
"Why not." she asks
"Because I have never heard one positive thing come out of that man's mouth, ever."
"Oh!?!"
Thank God I have 4 days off after today.

4. You are so correct.

I have had the misfortunate of three consecutive asshole bosses:

1. The first one hit me while screaming psychotically. (He didn't discuss negligent conflicts. He would scream. The hitting was a new element. I quit.)
2. The second one fired me for calling a judge's chambers to ask for a fax number. (No, there isn't more to the story.)
3. The last one (effective 3 days ago) fired me for being out 8 days on a workers comp injury I got while doing my job the way he told me to do it. (I have thoroughly torn my left knee in three places and may be permanently crippled.) Just in time for the holidays.

I wish I were making all this up. These employers seemed "normal" when I accepted my positions.

5. One guy I used to work with

One guy I used to work with told my boss he was going to kick his ass when he was shorted on pay.

The next day he got promoted(the guy, not my boss).

I had a boss who used to berate me in front of my peers. I told his boss one day that the next time he did that I was going to kick his ass.

He looked stunned.
