What MrsGrumpy is thankful for this year.
The wink my husband gives me as he walks out the door to put in another long day at work...the scowl on my daughter's face, with the hair hanging in her eyes as she stumbles out of her bedroom...the crazy way my dog has of trying to trip me up in the kitchen as I make lunches and coffee...the way the light hits the livingroom carpet just so...the sweet look on my son's face just before he wakes up and growls in his baby voice for bothering him...that my car starts every morning...that my grandmother taught me how to cook a long time ago...that my best friend in the whole world lives just a street away and could drive my son to school this morning...being able to have a baby when everyone else said that we couldn't and shouldn't...the new next door neighbors who we bonded with during the Great Blackout...thoughtful PM's and emails I get from fellow DUers that always seem to brighten up really dull moments...that my son's Kindergarten teacher told me she appreciates me...a day in the Lounge without any personal attacks...seeing my new niece who lives across the country...the crockpot steaming away on the kitchen counter...and most of all, the fact that I woke up this morning, and right now, right here...there are so many possiblities in my life...

Have a wonderful day all. You are truly a terrific bunch of people, for whom I am thankful.

Laura :grouphug:

For the decades old rivalry between the Bears and Packers. Gotta love it!

5. Thank you
MrsGrumpy, we've never spoken before, but you clearly have a way of putting things in perspective, and beautifully so. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your winking husband and grumpy children and dangerous dog! ;-)

I'm thankful for a comfortable roof over my head; for the earth, which continues to be beautiful and habitable; and for the love of my partner, whom I have kissed every day for the last 17 years before leaving the house, for any reason.

Dirk

7. Great post, Laura!
I'm thankful to all the nice folks here and to you and the fellow mods AND the admins! When we are focused and together, we do great things. People, never forget this.

Mostly, I am thankful for my health this year (after a rough year of surgeries and sickness - bleah), my family, my friends, my cats and bird, for every time I get in my car and it starts, for the fact that my 'fridge is currently bursting with food, and for the roof over my head.

PS - I told your son's teacher to tell you that!
