but missions is where the money is, look for some sort of indicator on your compass, also, any ringing pay phones = missions or races. start races with a fresh car, an 'inferno' if you can find/carjack one

I got a ps2 so Im not too hip on xbox but I think there's a box out for like 30 bucks with gta3 AND vice city.

They are definitely worth buying as you'll never be able to finish before you need to return it. They both come bundled together now at a very reasonable price.

Also, if you're a Simpsons fan, check out The Simpsons: Hit & Run. It's a lot like GTA3 and is absolutely hilarious. It just doesn't have machine guns, flame throwers and molotov cocktails.

First off its a total parody of miami vice, and everything 80s.

You can do MUCH more, the songs on the radio are REAL songs.. all typical 80s..

The commercials are total 80s..it's too fun to describe.. you have your crazy reverend.. freeper mother, rich liberal debate etc etc hillarious!!

Plus you can do stuff like throw yourself out of the car.. drive motorcycles!!! helicopters!! (but not much of that I'm afraid)

And if you get enough stars a black and a white cop in a fancy porsche and some fancy clothes will chase you :D

And as the poster above me said theres a much better storyline.. you can buy certain buildings and do the missions for them etc.

All in all vice city is like gta 3.5

8. You really ought to play Vice City.

It makes GTA3 look positively LAME in comparison. Actually has a detailed storyline that ties in with the gameplay, which didn't really happen in GTA3.

just different. There are good points to gta3 too. It looks better, some of the missions are better. Hopefully gta4 (or 5?) will combine what's good about both of them. I'm playing through three right now too, and I really miss being able to jump out of moving cars.

Hell, you can play GTA3 as a mutant version of Crazy Taxi if you like. (In fact, doing lots of taxi "missions" is a way to get one of the better cars and earn money, while you learn the layout of the various city sections)

You can play GTA3 as an ambulance driver or a firefighter, if you like.

The game really is that open-ended.

Also, you generally don't need to jack police cars, ambulances, or firetrucks to get started on the side missions. Just look for them where you'd expect them to be.

But deffently play GTA III its a great game and worth your free time..I know the three isles of Liberty City like the back of my hand like I know my own town. The Radio Stations are a riot esp The talk radio with Lazlow..
but I think Vice City is a MUCH better game you can do just about anything that you can in GTA and MORE..Plus the soundtrack is one of the BEST in ANY type of Media with 80's bands try mowing down gang members to the tune of Judas Preists " You got another thing commin" with a great dig at Bush on one of the talk radio stations talking to congressman " Shrub"
Also in Vice City there is Cycles with Dirtbikes, Scooters, Choppers and Crotch-Rockets..Plus you become a kingpin takeing over stripjoints ( where you can get a lapdance and a poledance..Dont let Mrs. Matcom see you doing that! ), Porn studios, counterfiting factories, ect and has top notch voice talent with Ray Liota, Burt Reynolds, Gery Busy, Jenna Jameson, Lee Majors, and more
But both games are way fun and GTA III no matter if the subject matter is your cup of tea or not is a breakthru Vid game..Its nothing more than a 40+ hour gangster flick..Its not for Kids I would never let my cousins or if i had Kids play it but for mature Adults who live in a free country its Vid Game Nirvina..

In GTA III i would go out of my way not to run over any Civvies..But when going about 120 MPH i cant say i was %100 sucsessfull..I guess Living in a beach town with dumb ass tourists i really did not put that much effort into it in Vice City...

56. A GTA III Moment...........

I know this sounds geeky but I will never forget this..I was playing GTA III..I was standing by the water watching the sun come up..It was a beautiful sunrise over liberty City.It had Just rained and there was a rainbow forming off the sunrise ( YES THERE ARE FRIKKIN RAINBOWS IN GTAIII and VICE CITY! ). When I heard a commotion i turned to look and saw a Pimp Dressed in Purple beating on his Girl..She turned the tables on him and Beat him silly..Then another woman got into the fray and beat on her. People were gawking and muttering. An ambulance came to help the people But it skidded on the wet street and hit a car skidded off the road and fell into the water where i was standing knocking me into the water and we all died.

Just stanidn around in GTA somethin can happen..Vice City has more of interacttion with the peeps though

I started getting the urge to drive over pedestrians in real life!! :scared: (you can imagine what I generally did while playing that game...)

Obviously I stopped playing it and went back to Sim City.

67. i just finished it..

all the missions anyway. the last one was pretty hard, but there's still a ton of stuff to do. I play the pc version and i downloaded a mod that changes all the cars to modern versions, the bike is a really sweet ducati 916.

definitely not a game for the younger crowd, but oh so fun!!
