Best Simon and Garfunkel album:
I say Bridge: "Only Living boy in NYC," "The Boxer" and the title song.

Did it ever get better than this? I think NOT!

1. I agree. All their albums were great. There wasn't a bad one in the bunch
but BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER was a musical masterpiece. El Condor Pasa too! So LONG, Frank Lloyd Wright..Cecilia....it's all good!

3. Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme
One of their earliest, and one of their best. Had an impact.

4. Yeah, it's the best one
But I do love them so. We tend to listen to them around Thanksgiving especially, so a very timely post! :hi:

5. 'Bridge' is the kind of artistic endeavor that makes one catch one's
breath, let it out in a long sigh, and make one glad one is a human being. Makes you wanna brag: "Look what WE can do!"

Message for any landing aliens: Yes, we are a nasty, disagreeable, warlike hate-filled species that is better off exterminated; but we DID do "Bridge Over Troubled Water." Let that be our legacy.

Too over the top? Just right? What do you think?

9. Yes!
This is my absolute favorite.

"BOOKENDS" is a close second, followed by "Bridge" (minus the title tune - I can't stand that song.)

Hopefully, I've dropped enough hints that the new "Essential" boxed set will be under my Christmas tree.

12. I Like All Of Their "Albums". S&G Fans Here's Something For You:
Sunday night at the Pond here in Anaheim, after Art had joined in with Paul singing "American Tune" and "Slip, Slidin' Away", Paul humbly told the audience, "A lot of my songs in the 1970's would have made great Simon and Garfunkel songs."

The crowd roared with loving approval.

14. Sounds of Silence, hands down.
I get a chill everytime I listen to the last song on the album

I Am A Rock

A winter's day
In a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window
To the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow

I am a rock
I am an island

I've built walls
A fortress deep and mighty
That none may penetrate
I have no need of friendship
Friendship causes pain
It's laughter and it's loving I disdain

I am a rock
I am an island

Don't talk of love
Well I've heard the word before
It's sleeping in my memory
I won't disturb the slumber
Of feelings that have died
If I never loved I never would have cried

I am a rock
I am an island

I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
I am shielded in my armor
Hiding in my room
Safe within my womb
I touch no one and no one touches me

I am a rock
I am an island

And a rock feels no pain
And an island never cries
