Happy Birthday - United Kingdom.
Today is the 299th anniversary of the final ratification of the Act of Union by the Scottish Parliament.

It lead to the disolving of separate parliaments and government of England and Scotland and the creation of one Parliament of Great Britain.

3. I'm happy for the Scots.
I just want England to have it too.

Federalism has never been a big thing here - but it Scots want their own parliament and government (and they certainly do), they should have it; but asymmetric decentralisation is not working, and is causing the bad sort of English nationalism to build up based on the grudge.
