1. The people I care about |
|
My family and friends. That most of them are relatively healthy and happy. And that those who aren't healthy are at least here for another Thanksgiving.
For my new niece Molly - born November 7.
That I'm healthy and have a decent job that keeps a roof over my head and challenges my mind sometimes.
That something kicked me in the ass this year and made me become more active politically again.
That I rediscovered this place. I'm thankful for the wonderful people I've met through DU this year.
That the Cowboys are 8-3. ;-)

I'm alive and relatively healthy
I'm free.
I have many many people who love and care about me. More than I think I realize.
I have a well-paying job that I like, even if I had to go halfway around the world to find it.
I have a comfortable apartment, right in my city's downtown.
I don't live in Afghanistan
I don't live in Iraq.
I'm not a soldier in either of those countries.
No one I'm close to is serving there either.

That I think that congress pushing through this medicaid bill finally shut the freepers up. EVERYONE knows that it was bad!

6. Wow, a deleted message on a "give thanks" thread? |
|
Damn. Somebody's having a rough year.
I'm thankful I have a paycheck every week (well, semi-monthly, if you want accuracy), and that my bosses think I'm fabulous. I had my annual review today, and it couldn't have been better.
I'm thankful I have a nice roof over my head, and a couple of relentlessly affectionate felines who populate the place.
I'm thankful for my fiance, who is the most wonderful man on earth, and who thinks I'm the best thing since pop tarts.
I'm thankful for my family, even though they make me crazy, and especially for my sister, who is the best friend a girl could ever hope for.
I'm thankful we have a field packed to the gills with incredibly qualified democratic presidential candidates, any of whom I will be delighted to vote for in a year.
I'm thankful Bush hasn't blown up the world (yet).
I am thankful for my health, I am thankful for my friends, and I am certainly thankful for DU.
And I hope all of you (even the scrooges out there) have a lovely day tomorrow. Eat too much, drink too much, watch lots of football, and love each other.

7. I'm thankful for a lot of things |
|
With all the crap i've put up with recently, tonight I really realized what I have to give thanks for
I'm thankful for my house
I'm thankful for my room
I'm thankful for my computer, the thing I use to communicate with all of you :)
I'm thankful for the music and the bands I listen to
I'm thankful for all of my friends. ALL of them. Where any other person would have probably abandoned me as a loser or something else, my friends took the chance to bond with me even more. Sure, we have our differences. But I wouldn't change in my group of intelligent, nice, leftist friends for anyone else. :)
I'm thankful for DU, which has changed my life in so many ways. I don't think I would be the person I am today, if I never found DU. DU has kept me interested in politics, when otherwise I would have just given up on it and been left with nothing but my opinions. I also met some of the greatest people here. Hell, I had a crush on one of them, so I must have met some great people here...:). Not to mention, this place has been here for me when i was down. So, I'm thankful for DU.
I'm thankful that i'm in a position where it's still possible for me to accomplish my dreams. :)
Finally, I'm thankful that i'm alive today, and i'm still going...:)
