My dirty little secret: Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards...

Yes, I collect them, and i've played the game too. They say it's a kids game, but i've actually enjoyed it, alot of strategy involved. And I just got this rare card out of a $4 booster pack that's worth about $30.

I don;t know if he's ever played the ones he has in a game -- but he likes looking at them and he likes having them.

But, just recently, I sold them at one of our shows for donations to the Northwoods Humane Society. They weren't doing me any good and I figured if someone could use them and we could give help to the organization then I didn't need them.

(BTW, I watch the cartoon, too...)

3. Question: why aren't they called "Duel Monster" cards?

In the Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon, the game is called "Duel Monsters". But in the "real world", they're marketed as "Yu-Gi-Oh cards".

Why is this?

It would've made Yugi look real egotistical to have the game named after him in the cartoon :shrug: . (I think the technical name for it is duel monsters though, b/c there is another game referred to as Dice Monsters)

10. The first ones

I have the Yugi and Kaiba starter decks, which may not be easily found anymore. The presently available ones are the Joey and Pegasus starter decks.

11. Yugi and Kaiba are out of print...

I was able to find a yugi deck a couple weeks ago and cheap too. I heard a rumor that they were going to release a new vers. of them or make decks of some other characters.
