"Uncle Paddy! Uncle Paddy! Uncle Paddy!"
Despite Tony and my best efforts to enter the house here in Chicago quietly around 4:30 this morning, my nephews heard our entrance and thundered down the stairs shouting "Uncle Paddy!" loud enough to wake the dead! *grin* They were followed shortly by my three younger brothers, my older brother and sister-in-law, and the predictable Irish homecoming/mob scene ensued, complete with a couple of barking dogs and three cats twisting around various sets of ankles--- in a word, 'mayhem' of the nicest kind. :)

On this Thanksgiving day, I am thankful to have a family who both loves and misses me; I am especially grateful for my older brother, Dary, and my lovely sister-in-law, Siobahn. It is a rare couple who, in their first year of their marriage, would welcome 4 orphaned children into their home, and then shepherd their lives with the love, patience and devotion that all children need and deserve. I love them both more than words alone can say, and I shall never be able to repay the debt I owe them.

Happy Thanksgiving, all! :hi:
