10. Speaking of the Association....
I've always loved their music but...they did a concert here a couple of years ago. IT SUCKED!! Worst oldie group concert I've ever witnessed--sounded like a garage band.

I think their running around with two of the original five but gezzz was it bad. It was an outdoor concert and people were actually leaving early. The Kingsmen were on before them and rocked the place.

3. I own two Go-Gos albums
The first two--I used to think that stuff was cool. No sense selling them now.

6. Love the Go-Gos, still do.
If you ever heard them in their punker days (as I did) you would feel no shame. The pre-IRS "Our Lips" was very different!

8. I still have the Stiff Records version of We Got the Beat
It's less polished and a lot better than the hit song.

20. We Got the Beat 45 played at 33 makes a *kick ass* rock song.
But I could never convince the guys in the band to cover it.

It comes off like a Sabbath cover.
Very cool.

11. I hunted " 1,2,3" down in the college radio station archives in '79
The Talking Heads covered it, and I just had to find the original. I did not remember 1910 Fruitgum Company from their original hit days.

15. Easy! I own the "New Monkees" album! And Lisa Whelchel's religious album!
Remember? After The Monkees resurgence due to MTV's broadcasting of the original shows, some marketing genius put together a "New Monkees". Show sucked, but the album is damn good! You know, for an 80s pop album. Sometimes I like to try to find out what the members are doing these days.

As for the Lisa Whelchel "All Because Of You" album...found it in my old vinyl scrounging days. Perfect condition, but the songs are crap. The most (or least, depending on your point of view) delightful thing about it is that at least one member of Chick Corea's band plays on it (John Patitucci).
