Poll question: Do You Wait For The Other Person To Hang Up The Phone?
Even after you've both said "goodbye", do wait to hang up your receiver until you've actully heard the *click* of the other party hanging up?

Or... do you go ahead and hang up without waiting?

-- Allen

P.S. Okay, I'm hanging up now. You hang up first. NO.. YOU hang up. Okay... let's both hang up at the same time. Ready? One, two, three, NOW! I can hear you breathing. Still there? Me too.

1. I did the "you hang up first" thing
when I was a young, lovelorn swain. Now it's just "goodbye" <click>.

Speaking of phone ettiquette...
Callers who don't identify themselves. That really gets my goat.
"Hello?"
"Hi, how are you? What's going on? blah blah blah"
<who the hell is this?>
I used to be polite and keep the chat going until I could figure out who it was. Now I just say "Who IS this?"
I want to hear "Hi, this is Allen."
If I don't know you that well I want to hear "Hi,this is Allen Walden."
end of mini-rant
and Happy Turkey Day to you.
:hi:

2. Oh My Goodness! Me Too!!!! --- That Drives Me NUTS!!!
I always identify myself. Even when calling my mother... "Hi Mom... It's Allen."

I've never been good at identifying voices that I don't speak with daily. Then they get all "upset" because I didn't immediately recognise them. Too bad.

I'm just like you are... If I can't figure out who it is immediately, I'll ask right away also.

"Who is this?"
"Guess."
-=click=-

I've done that before. Felt good too.

3. I agree with you on this. It's sort of rude actually the way...........
some people just assume that everyone knows who they are instantly. sigh.
